Unfitly — start where you actually are.

Most fitness apps assume you can already do a burpee. Unfitly starts by finding out what you can do today — then asks for the smallest thing that still counts.

The people this is for are the ones nobody builds for.

If one flight of stairs leaves you holding the bannister, a programme built around burpees isn't cautious — it's useless. Unfitly is built for the cohort that gets skipped: sedentary, prediabetic or diabetic, carrying weight, and tired of apps that open with a shirtless before-and-after.

A real number, not a guess.

You can take the check in your browser before you download anything. Twelve questions, about two minutes, and you get your functional capacity in METs — anchored to what that means in practice, like carrying the shopping in from the car. Some people find it lower than they expected. That's the point: you can't plan from a feeling.

Then thirty seconds on a chair, once a week. It's the number that moves before the scale does — and watching it climb is what keeps people going.

Real screens, not mockups — every one of these is the shipping app.

The checkTwelve questions. It never asks your weight.

It tells you when you won't make it.

Set a goal with a date — a wedding, a trip, a grandchild — and if you're not going to be ready, it says so, and says how far off you really are. At six weeks, three months and half a year it writes you a short account of what changed, built from your own numbers, including the weeks that went badly. A record that can only report good news is a marketing asset, not a record.

Guides for starting from nothing.

Written for the same person the app is: plain, specific, and free.

The ZET pattern: a saturated category that ignores its hardest users.

Fitness is the most crowded category on the store, and almost all of it is built for people who are already fit. The users with the most to gain — and the highest rates of diabetes and obesity — get a scaled-down version of an athlete's app. Unfitly measures instead of motivating, and refuses to flatter. Every movement is priced from the 2024 Adult Compendium of Physical Activities; nothing in it is invented.

Common questions

Is this another workout app?

No. It starts by measuring what your body can currently do, then asks for the smallest useful thing — a two-minute walk after a meal, standing up out of a chair. Most fitness apps assume you can already do a burpee.

Does it ask my weight?

Never. Weight says almost nothing about what your body can do; two people at the same weight can be a decade apart in capacity. Unfitly measures capacity instead.

Is it medical advice?

No. It measures functional capacity and suggests general activity. It does not diagnose, screen or treat, and it does not replace your doctor. If you report chest pain or a recent cardiac event it withholds the exercise programme and tells you to speak to a clinician.

What does it cost?

The assessment, the weekly measurement and the programme are free until your first weekly check shows a gain. If it never helps you, it never asks for money.

What languages does it support?

English and Spanish (Mexico), fully translated including the measurement instrument itself.
