CraveWave — Privacy Policy

CraveWave is an iPhone app by ZET Studios that helps you ride out nicotine cravings and space them further apart. It has no accounts and no ads. Everything you tell it stays on your device. The only data that leaves your phone is a short list of anonymous usage events, described below.

What stays on your device

Your name, your reason for quitting, what you use (cigarettes, vape or both) and your daily numbers and costs.
Every session, the craving strength ratings you give, the triggers you tag, and each time you log "I just had one".
Your stretch-the-gap plan and your settings.

This is stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone. We never receive it, and it is not backed up to our servers. Settings › Reset everything erases all of it. Deleting the app does the same.

Anonymous usage events

To learn which parts of the app help people, CraveWave sends simple events to our own server: for example "a session started", "a session ended, postponed", "the paywall was shown, from the gap plan". Each event carries:

the event name and a few fixed labels and numbers (such as which screen, whether you chose the annual or monthly plan, whether you rated a craving, or the starting gap and daily step of a stretch-the-gap plan);
the app version, your iOS version and your language setting;
a random install ID that the app creates for itself.

Events never contain your name, your reason, anything you type, your craving ratings, or your advertising identifier. The install ID is not linked to your identity and is not shared with anyone. Events are deleted after 120 days.

Purchases

CraveWave Pro is a subscription sold through the Apple App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details or Apple ID. We record anonymously that a purchase or free trial started, and which plan, as part of the usage events.

Notifications

CraveWave schedules notifications on your device: when a session ends, when the gap in your plan is up, and two days before a free trial would start billing. They are created on your iPhone and never pass through our server. You can turn them off in iOS Settings.

Tracking and advertising

CraveWave contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. It does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not ask for permission to.

Health information

Craving ratings, triggers and smoking or vaping counts never leave your device. CraveWave is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. For help quitting, talk to a doctor or pharmacist, or in the US call 1-800-QUIT-NOW.

Children

CraveWave is meant for adults who use nicotine. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

Erase everything on your device: Settings › Reset everything, or delete the app.
Usage events are anonymous, so we cannot match them to you to delete them early. They expire on their own after 120 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change, and material changes will be noted in an app update.
